DeAnn McDaniel resides in scenic Ouray County nestled in the Cimarron and San Juan ranges of the majestic Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Upon retiring from occupations in microbiology, health care, and software development and surviving cancer treatment, she devoted herself to further developing her life-long interest in art. Her colored pencil drawings and water color paintings capture still life, landscapes, and the alluring adventure to be found throughout the 4 Corners USA.

DeAnn was recently invited to join the organization, Women Artists of the West. She is also a member of the Western Colorado Watercolor Society, Montrose Visual Arts Guild, and Ouray County Arts Association. She has been a consistent winner (1st and 2nd places) in the Montrose Visual Arts Guild Annual Art Show and Sale, as well as a consistent winner (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) in the Artists' Alpine Holiday annual juried art show in Ouray, Colorado. She was juried into Colored Pencil Society of America's Annual National Show in 2003, Women Artists of the West in 2014, and Rockies West National 23rd Annual Watercolor Exhibit in 2015.

DeAnn has studied with Janie Gildow, Ann Kullberg, Tom Lynch, Sterling Edwards, John Cogan, Cheryl St. John, and Virtual Art Academy.
