I love to paint from nature. I love to paint flowers, landscapes and still lifes.
I have always enjoyed painting. My parents arranged lessons with Helen Stockton, a post impressionist artist, when I was a child in Westfield, NJ.
My heart has always been in the school of realism. As a child I loved to draw portraits from movie magazines. In college, the art department was in an abstract period, which was a huge disappointment.
During that time, I decided to major in art history while admiring Andrew Wyeth. In recent years, I have taken workshops from Charles Reid, Mary Whyte, and Alvaro Castagnet.
I have learned the most about watercolor from Phyllis Doyon. Phyl is an incredible source of inspiration and instruction.
I have a solo watercolor exhibit April 5-30 at the Buenaventura Gallery, 700 East Santa Clara Street, Ventura. Hours Tues.-Sat. 11-5:00. Please drop by.
